Hotel and Bistro Cantarana is the fulfillment of a lifelong dream for us, three Costa Rican brothers who share a deep passion for hospitality, the ocean, and the “pura vida” lifestyle. We are Roberto, Javier, and Federico, and we are excited to offer you a unique, memorable experience during your stay in Playa Grande, Costa Rica.

 

Our journey in hospitality began in 2004 when we opened our first hostel in the capital, San José. Over six years, we learned, grew, and created lasting memories with our guests. But our love for the ocean and the waves led us to pursue an even bigger dream: bringing our passion to our favorite beach.

 

That dream brought us to Playa Grande, nestled within the Leatherback Turtle National Park. From the moment we set foot here, we knew we had found the perfect place to share the beauty and tranquility that we are passionate about.

 

Here in Playa Grande, we offer a space where you can truly experience the essence of Costa Rica. We love sharing with our guests the meaning of “pura vida.” It’s not just a phrase, but a way of life: enjoying every moment, appreciating life’s simple pleasures, and slowing down to savor it all. Whether you’re surfing our incredible waves, taking in the breathtaking sunsets, or strolling along the beach surrounded by wildlife, we invite you to unwind and reconnect with what really matters.
